Casual Food Preparation Assistant

Salary: G3 £13.26 per hour

We are looking for enthusiastic, adaptable team members to assist in the production and delivery of school meals across the borough. Successful candidates will undertake general kitchen duties including cleaning of associated equipment.

Casual Food Preparation Assistants are valued members of our teams and are needed in schools and Council buildings.

Availability: Flexible pattern between 10:00am and 2:00pm, Monday to Friday term time.

Working pattern: Non‑contractual basis, hours not guaranteed; work will be allocated on an ‘as and when needed’ basis.

Qualifications

  • Hold or train for the Essential Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Complete a pre‑employment health questionnaire prior to commencing kitchen duties.
  • Meet the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty: communicate verbally with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
  • May be required to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
