Working hours: 37‑hour post

Location: Various homes across the borough of Walsall

This role requires experience working with children and a resilient, resourceful, enthusiastic and motivated attitude to positively influence children. All successful candidates will be expected to work as part of a 24/7 rota team, including weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and sleeping in duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care for children and engage with children and their families.
  • Support children in achieving positive outcomes through a child‑centred approach.
  • Promote children’s rights and deliver services in safe personalised small group homes.
  • Participate in and support team working rotations and shift patterns.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified candidates must hold a level three or four qualification in children’s residential care or equivalent.
  • Unqualified candidates with experience (employed or voluntary) and a passion for working with children are encouraged to apply.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
  • Applicants must declare any periods lived, studied or worked abroad and be prepared to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Certificate or Statement of Good Conduct.
  • Fluency in spoken English is required.

Benefits

Salary includes 5% enhancement for unsociable hours and additional payments for sleeping in duties.
