Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with specific interest in Urogynaecology and/or Fetal Medicine.

An opportunity has arisen for a Locum Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Walsall Manor Hospital for a period of one year from October 2025.

The post requires expertise in Urogynaecology and/or Fetal Medicine, with the ability to cover all Obstetrics and Gynaecology emergencies in an on-call role. Experience in infertility management is desirable. The role includes resident and non-resident on-call duties, with resident cover until 22:00 on weekdays and twice daily during weekends to facilitate ward rounds. Support is provided by a middle grade doctor (ST3 or above) and junior trainees.

Applicants must have full GMC registration with a license to practice, MRCOG or equivalent qualification, relevant CCT or equivalent, and entry onto GMC Specialist Register or eligibility within 6 months.

Communication skills in English will be assessed during the selection process.

The post involves covering all obstetrics and gynaecological emergencies, with on-call duties including emergency procedures and elective surgical lists. Supervision and advice are available from colleagues, and a buddy system will be in place initially.
