We are looking for an exceptional individual to join Walsall\’s Children\’s Services as the Locality Family Safeguarding Service Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and lead the Wave 2 Pathfinder, delivering local and national reform as part of the Families First For Children programme.
  2. Lead and develop the Locality Family Safeguarding Service to ensure children and families receive timely, appropriate help from the right professionals.
  3. Work with partners to develop the Family Safeguarding Model and advance the Family Safeguarding journey.
  4. Ensure that the voices of children, families, carers, and the community are central to service development and practice improvement.
  5. Collaborate with senior leaders to develop a new Children\’s Plan, lead service planning, needs analysis, and research initiatives.
  6. Manage and inspire the Locality Family Help Teams, fostering a high-performing culture where practitioners are empowered to excel.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in children\’s services.
  • Proven leadership in social work services, working closely with senior management, stakeholders, and partners.
  • Experience in producing high-quality reports for local and national audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to support system-wide improvements.
  • Experience in leading projects and change management initiatives.
