Walsall College currently has an opportunity for a Wellbeing and Safeguarding Officer on a fixed term contract to cover Maternity, to join our dedicated team in ensuring our students are supported in all aspects of safeguarding. This is a vital role and you will be responsible for coordinating a wide range of student support services which include: Safeguarding, the Prevent Duty, Behaviour and Attitudes, Mental Health and Wellbeing. The role will ensure the delivery of an excellent student experience in relation to these areas.

You will be a key advocate for ensuring that every student matters especially for our most vulnerable and underrepresented students. Working closely with our Head of Student Wellbeing, Inclusion, and Safeguarding, as well as our Behaviour, Wellbeing and Safeguarding Coordinator this exciting post will help support a whole College approach to relational practice and attachment aware, which will establish and foster a strong trauma informed ethos.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students by implementing and overseeing effective safeguarding policies and procedures. This position involves proactive engagement with students, staff, and external agencies to create a secure and supportive learning environment.

Demonstrable experience of delivering a safeguarding service is essential for this role, alongside experience of communicating and liaising with a variety of people, including external partners and students.
