Walsall College is continuing to develop its leadership capacity as it delivers its strategic ambitions and builds on its existing strengths. As part of this next phase of development, the College is appointing three senior leaders to its Executive Leadership Team: a Vice Principal - Curriculum & Performance, an Assistant Principal - Skills, Business Growth & Partnerships and an Assistant Principal-Quality.

About the Vice Principal Curriculum & Performance Role

This is an opportunity to shape the future direction of curriculum across a large and diverse FE college, influencing what we deliver, how we deliver it and how we respond to the changing needs of learners, employers and the economy.

The Vice Principal - Curriculum & Performance will provide strategic leadership for the development and delivery of the College’s curriculum strategy, ensuring that provision is ambitious, responsive and aligned with the needs of learners, apprentices, employers and the wider economy.

The role will lead a whole-College approach to curriculum planning and delivery, ensuring provision responds to changing labour market and learner needs while supporting strong recruitment, retention, achievement, progression and income.

Working closely with curriculum leaders and the Assistant Principal - Skills, Business Growth & Partnerships, the Vice Principal will ensure that curriculum continues to evolve in response to evidence, demand and emerging opportunities. The role will also provide leadership for high-quality teaching, learning and assessment and contribute to strategic planning and partnerships across the College.

About you

You will bring:

  • Substantial senior leadership experience within further education or a comparable education environment
  • A strong track record of curriculum leadership and improvement
  • The ability to translate strategy into effective operational delivery and measurable outcomes
  • Strong strategic and commercial awareness
  • The credibility to build effective relationships with colleagues, governors, employers and external partners
  • A clear commitment to learner success, inclusion and the College’s ICARE values
