We are currently looking for a Lecturer in Maths. You will be delivering Functional Skills Maths up to Level 2, you must be dedicated to delivering motivating and inspiring teaching and learning to unleash the potential of our students. You will also be expected to prepare schemes of work, lesson and assessment plans and provide appropriate academic and pastoral support to individual students as required.
Participating in the interviewing, enrolment and induction of students, you will also be expected to use information on students’ starting points, such as initial assessments, to plan teaching and learning. A Teaching Qualification, i.e. DTLLS, Cert. Ed/PGCE, or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards) is essential for this role, alongside an appropriate subject qualification.

Walsall College takes part in the Targeted Retention Incentive (TRI) scheme, a Department for Education initiative that provides financial incentives of up to £6,000 to eligible further education (FE) teachers working in priority subject areas. Eligible teachers must be within the first five years of their FE teaching career and teach specific courses in areas such as construction, chemistry, computing and digital, early years, engineering and manufacturing, maths, and physics. Payments range from £2,000 to £6,000 depending on teaching hours and the provider’s profile, with higher amounts available for institutions serving greater proportions of disadvantaged learners. This post may be eligible for the Targeted Retention Incentive, subject to meeting the scheme’s eligibility criteria.
