A new role has arisen for a Vocational Coach in Automotive at Walsall College and we are looking for someone with demonstrable industry experience. This opportunity will see you teaching, assessing and coaching students to develop and improve their knowledge, skills and behaviours, unlocking their potential to maximise their own performance to enable them to achieve their current and future aspirations.
You will ensure effective curriculum implementation through preparing schemes of work, lesson and assessment plans taking account of employer requirements and progression aspirations. You will also provide coaching and support to students that promotes the development of behaviours necessary for success in the future ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities. The role will see you participating in the interviewing, enrolment and induction of students.
Experience of designing and delivering training in either a college training facility and/or in a students place of work or a similar environment would be desirable, along with experience of working with HGV and Light vehicle apprentices at Level 3 and NVQ\’s along with Autocare at Level 2.
To be successful, you must possess proven vocational knowledge with a minimum Level 3 qualification in your specialist subject area, along with the ability to support the development of students English, Maths and Digital Skills. You must also have TAQA (301, 302 or 303) or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards in line with contractual requirements) combined with GCSE A* – C in English and Maths qualifications (Grades 9 – 4) or equivalent.
A Teaching Qualification, i.e. PTLLS, CTLLS, or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards in line with contractual requirements) is desirable.
