About Walr
Walr is the service-first data collection company built for the fast and the ambitious. Founded in 2020, we exist to elevate the role of the market researcher. Not by adding more tools to manage, but by taking away the operational heavy lifting, so teams can focus on what really matters: insight, impact, and confidence. What sets Walr apart is relentless speed, obsessive service, and dedicated experts. We are a relay race team - high-performance, high-trust, interconnected. We pass the baton flawlessly, anticipate the next move, and never drop the ball.
About The Role:
Walr is looking for Manager and Director-level Data Consultants to support the exponential growth of the Walr business through delivering projects profitably whilst delighting clients. This role entails consulting with clients and coordinating cross-functional teams of survey programmers, sample-only project managers and data processors to deliver high quality data. This role is ideal for someone who has experience of the end-to-end data collection process within quantitative market research and has a desire to challenge themselves in a scale-up organization. The successful candidate will be a critical contributor to two of Walr’s key performance metrics: gross margin and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the delivery of high-quality data to our clients whilst delivering an exceptional client experience that is consultative and service-led.
- Align internal teams and clients on survey design, sample plan, timelines and deliverables, and make suggestions for improvement throughout the process.
- Coordinate and oversee survey programming setup, working with internal programmers to ensure the survey is fit-for-purpose, on time and error free.
- Coordinate and oversee sampling and data collection, working with the sampling team to monitor quotas, adjust field strategy and ensure timelines are met.
- Coordinate and oversee data processing to ensure final data deliverables are on time, error free and meet client specifications.
- Proactively manage clients and client communication. Provide regular updates, anticipate needs, advise on trade-offs, and elevate appropriately to protect client relationships and outcomes.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of the Walr proposition to give clients confidence, and contribute to the growth of key client accounts through delivering a high quality, professional service.
- Make the most of Walr’s technology, audiences and team of experts to meet client needs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying ways to improve any element of the end-to-end data collection process. Act as the voice of the customer to provide product and technology teams with feedback.
- Lead by example in all areas of the role, and support and coach junior members of the team.
Desired Experience:
- A strong track record of project management or consultancy in market research.
- Good knowledge of market research disciplines with experience of delivering bespoke quantitative research and data.
- Client-facing experience, with the ability to confidently engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven experience of working with and getting the best out of multi-disciplinary teams.
Desired Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent client management: professional, reliable, and able to act as a trusted partner and advisor. A clear and proactive communication style that builds client confidence.
- Excellent timeline and priority management: comfortable evaluating competing priorities and making trade-offs.
- Services mindset: a delivery professional who lives for engaging with clients daily and leading teams to deliver outcomes.
- Attention to detail: naturally detail oriented and takes pride in delivering high quality, error free deliverables to clients.
- Welcomes a challenge: able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment where internal and external expectations are high.
- Continuous learner: eager to learn and apply new technologies and frameworks.
- Enjoys problem solving: leans into, rather than running away from, problems. Comfortable with independent issue resolution and root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
- Strong communication skills: Business level English comprehension and the ability to communicate clearly, in writing and orally, with any teammate or key stakeholder regardless of technical background.
