Position Summary
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training and actively listening to associates, touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, business initiatives, merchandising and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicates business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives and programs, ensures customer needs and issues are resolved, and develops action plans to correct deficiencies while providing process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience. Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing PL statements, budgeting, forecasting and controlling expenses, monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, and inventory flow, and developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training and mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, communicating expectations consistently, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace. Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, identifying goals and objectives, and measuring progress toward results. Demonstrates adaptability and promotes continuous learning. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports the company mission, values and ethics; supports Open Door Policy and guides others in applying these in business processes and practices.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00 plus differential to meet legislative requirements where applicable. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Some positions may include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) and Complex Structure compensation based on location and external factors.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
- Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring and firing.
