Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training and actively listening to associates, touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicates business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives and community outreach programs; ensures customer needs, complaints and issues are resolved by developing and implementing action plans for process improvement.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing P&L, budgeting, forecasting and controlling expenses; ensures alignment to sales, merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals for the area. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing associates and promoting a sense of belonging.

Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying goals, measuring progress and promoting continuous learning. Ensures compliance with company policies and values through action plans and applying Open Door Policy.

What you\’ll do

Lead and develop teams by coaching, training and providing feedback; tour store operations and engage with associates at all levels. Communicate business objectives and drive execution of strategic initiatives. Support customer service initiatives and respond to store needs, complaints and opportunities for improvement. Manage store financial performance, budgets and expenses; oversee merchandising, inventory flow and store presentation. Hire, train, mentor and develop associates; set expectations and recognize performance. Build stakeholder relationships, drive plans to meet customer and business goals, and measure progress toward results. Ensure compliance with company policies and foster an inclusive workplace.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.

For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training may be required. For facilities that sell only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership (Live Better U and Bellevue University), Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership (Live Better U and Bellevue University), and General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00 plus supplemental pay where required to meet legislative requirements. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and, for certain positions, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ), Complex Structure adjustments, and other location-based variations.
