We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer– PRIIP Cloud to lead the technical design, development, operation, and evolution of our strategic cloud-based PRIIP documentation and reporting platform. This is a hands-on full-stack technical leadership role with responsibility for the platform end-to-end, including user interfaces, APIs, backend services, integrations, data processing, cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and operational support.
The role combines software engineering, solution architecture, operational ownership, and team leadership. You will work closely with Product, Operations, Compliance, and Architecture teams to ensure the platform remains secure, scalable, resilient, and compliant within a highly regulated financial services environment. You will lead a multidisciplinary team comprising software engineers and subject matter experts.
Many team members possess significant domain expertise in structured products, derivatives, equities, regulatory reporting, and PRIIPs regulation, requiring close collaboration between technical and business specialists to deliver successful outcomes.
- Lead technical decision-making across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, integrations, data models, and cloud infrastructure.
- Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices, software quality, and developer productivity.
- Contribute hands-on across all layers of the platform including frontend, backend services, APIs, integrations, databases, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Drive automated testing, CI/CD adoption, infrastructure-as-code, and engineering automation.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, availability, reliability, and security expectations.
- Drive monitoring, observability, alerting, incident management, capacity planning, and service improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Product Owners, Compliance SMEs, Quantitative Analysts, and regulatory specialists to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure technical solutions accurately reflect financial product behaviour, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and career development.
- Encourage adoption of modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted software development and engineering automation.
8+ years of software engineering experience with significant full-stack development experience.
- Previous experience operating as a Lead Developer, Technical Lead, Principal Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong experience designing and building cloud-native distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience across frontend and backend technologies.
- TypeScript / Node.js
- React or modern web frameworks
- Java / Kotlin (desirable)
- Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience working with structured products, equity-linked products, OTC derivatives, regulatory documentation, PRIIPs, or financial reporting platforms.
- Experience working alongside quantitative analysts, product specialists, and regulatory subject matter experts.
- Experience implementing AI-assisted software development practices.
