Your Role
- Deliver Exceptional Care: Provide top-quality dental hygiene and direct access dental therapy services to NHS and private patients.
- Collaborate: Work closely with experienced dental professionals to ensure excellent treatment outcomes.
- Engage and Support: Help create positive patient journeys and contribute to a supportive, high-performing clinical environment.
What We’re Looking For
- GDC Registration: Fully valid and up-to-date registration as a Dental Therapist.
- Direct Access Qualification: Adequate training and competency to work under Direct Access.
- Minimum Experience: At least 7 years post-graduation clinical experience, preferably across NHS and private environments.
- Patient-Centred Care: A passion for oral health, patient education, and preventative dentistry.
- Team Mindset: A proactive, collaborative approach to working within a multi-disciplinary practice.
Core Clinical Competencies
The ideal candidate will demonstrate confidence and proficiency in some or all of the following clinical areas:
- Periodontics (scaling, RSD, periodontal charting and maintenance)
- Restorative Dentistry (composites, minimally invasive approaches, crown support polishing)
- Preventive Dentistry (fluoride applications, fissure sealants, risk-based patient education)
- Endodontic Supporting Skills
- Prosthodontic Adjustment and Maintenance
- Paediatric Dentistry
- Aesthetic Dentistry (shade matching, whitening protocols, cosmetic polishing)
- Dental Radiography
- Digital Dentistry (intraoral scanning, digital charting, CAD/CAM familiarity)
- Orthodontic Support Skills (impressions, fixed/removable appliance support)
- Oral Surgery Support (simple extraction support, suturing experience beneficial)
Technical & Professional Skills
- Excellent manual dexterity, fine motor control, and indirect-vision proficiency
- Strong infection prevention and cross-infection control practice
- Accurate and compliant clinical documentation
- Effective time management and treatment prioritisation
- Ethical decision-making, safeguarding knowledge, and confidentiality compliance
Faculty-Assessment Benchmarked Skills
Candidates should be able to demonstrate competency in:
