Are you a hands-on Design Engineer with a passion for mechanical innovation? A growing engineering firm based in Banbridge is seeking a Junior / Intermediate Design Engineer to join their team. Specialising in the design and build of food processing machinery, this company serves clients across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the full lifecycle of bespoke machinery—from concept to commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Design food processing machinery using SolidWorks
  • Create proof-of-concept models using 3D printing
  • Issue drawings to fabricators and manage part selection and ordering
  • Monitor build quality and progress through to dispatch
  • Write user manuals and manage spares
  • Participate in on-site commissioning of machinery when required

Criteria

  • Proficient in SolidWorks
  • Experience with 3D printing
  • Strong decision-making and time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a small office environment
  • Third-level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Willingness to travel abroad
  • Full passport and driving licence
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • Must live within commuting distance to Banbridge
