An established engineering manufacturer is seeking an Experienced Design Engineer to join its in‑house engineering function. This is a hands‑on, technically focused role working on the design and development of heavy‑duty industrial machinery, supporting both new product development and continuous improvement of existing equipment.
Responsibilities
- You will play a key role within the design function, taking ownership of mechanical designs for industrial equipment and ensuring solutions are robust, manufacturable and compliant with relevant standards.
- Design and development of mechanical systems and components for heavy industrial machinery.
- Creation of 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Supporting new product development and evolution of existing designs.
- Liaising with production, procurement and project teams to optimise design outcomes.
- Participation in design reviews, risk assessments and validation activities.
- Managing engineering documentation and design changes.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing.
Criteria
- Background in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Experience in a Design Engineering role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Competent using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent).
- Good understanding of mechanical design, drawings, and manufacturing processes.
