A rare opportunity for a Sales Manager or senior Business Development Manager to work for a company which is part of a worldwide household name in the automotive industry. My client is a byword for quality and expertise in their own sector of the manufacture of components and subsystems for off highway, construction, agriculture, materials handling, engine power, generator OEMs.

BASIC SALARY: £60,000 – £70,000

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A senior, pivotal, visible and strategic role combining your own sales and business development at a senior level with off highway, construction, agricultural, materials handling, engine power, and genset OEMs in the UK and Europe and managing a team of high performing Account Managers. An opportunity for a proactive and sales oriented Sales Manager to play a key role in my client’s success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • A dual sales management and account management/ sales/ business development role.
  • The management element will involve:
  • Training, and developing a high performing team of Account Managers- providing ongoing coaching, feedback and support to ensure team’s success.
  • Responsibility for sales planning process.
  • Responsibility for reporting sales performance to company and group management.
  • Creation of & progress reporting of individual and departmental goals.
  • Responsibility for departmental compliance and procedures / processes supporting these.
  • The sales/account management part of the role will involve:
    • All aspects of developing the company’s business with major OEMs, protecting and identifying opportunities for the business to grow.
    • Responsibility for all aspects of the company’s business with major OEMs, developing trusting relationships to ensure they do not turn to the competition.
    • Accurately conveying customer requirements to the business thereby delivering best fit and accurately priced solutions- being the “voice of the customer”.
    • Keep up to date with industry trends and new technologies and share information with clients on possibilities to utilise my client’s products, identifying and pursuing opportunities for the business and keeping systems and forecasts up to date and accurate.
    • Work collaboratively with other group companies and key departments such as Design and Product Development to ensure alignment and customer satisfaction.
    • Anticipate account changes and improvements and acquire a thorough understanding of key market and customer needs and requirements.
    • Prepare and update Sales Plans and provide regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using account metrics.
    • Taking full accountability for demonstrating effective activity and delivering sales performance targets.
    • Working alongside Applications Engineers on existing and new/ potential business opportunities in accordance with strategic objectives.

    PERSON SPECIFICATION:

    To be considered for this senior and potentially rewarding role in terms of career progression you will need to have:

    • Experience and success in sales management, ideally including person or team management or team leadership for a manufacturer and supplier of components and/or subsystems to off highway, construction, agricultural, OEMs at a senior level.
    • You will have dealt at senior level at some or all of the following; off highway, construction, agriculture, materials handling and power, engine and generator OEMs in a senior account management and business development role.
    • You will have an excellent knowledge of the market and be abreast of developments and demonstrate a track record of spotting and developing opportunities and business reacting to such developments.
    • You will have very strong analytical and numerical skills to be able to analyse and interpret data, sales figures and market trends.

My client is a very well known and respected British manufacturer of automotive cooling systems that was strategically acquired by a ÂŁ100bn+ household name global automotive components and subsystems manufacturer. They have gone from strength to strength since the acquisition and these roles are part of their expansion plans going forward.
