Job Title: Head of Engineering As part of the site senior management team, our new Head of Engineering will run our entire engineering operation, covering maintenance, CAPEX, and process engineering. Running a team of circa 20 engineers and handling a budget of £3m+, our Engineering Manager will play a key role in change management and growth. JOB DESCRIPTION: Head of Engineering / Engineering Manager / ISO:13485 / Medical Devices / Validation Due to pending retirement, we have restructured and created a brand-new role, as our new Head of Engineering, you will be the driving force in creating a culture that is a collective change in actions and accountability. You’ll take full operational responsibility for the whole engineering department and have a seat at the senior leadership table, contributing to overall site strategy and how your engineering department can support that. We will back you and your team to keep the machinery and equipment in continual service to support production. This is a genuine opportunity to shape this role yourself and add so much value to this site and the wider business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: You will run the engineering department for the site – with 5 direct reports and an indirect team of circa 20 engineers, covering maintenance, process, asset engineering and capital projects you will be busy developing strategic plans, establishing new targets and tracking progress. Drive engineering change – culturally, operationally, and process focused. Harmonise, integrate and develop the engineering department, coaching/nurturing the engineering team to their full potential. Drive safety (one of our core values). Own the site’s regulatory compliance and validation challenges/requirements. PERSON SPECIFICATION: You will have a proven leadership background in driving an engineering operation of a suitable regulated manufacturing facility. Due to the validation, compliance, and regulatory aspects of this role, we welcome applications from backgrounds within the manufacturing of Medical Devices, Food, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, FMCG or similar. Your experience will cover multiple ISO standards such as ISO9001, ISO14001 any experience of ISO13485 a distinct advantage. Strong appreciation of QHSE and the ability to effectively influence other internal stakeholders. Be aware of world-class manufacturing. Proven change management and people leadership (an empowering, collaborative, coaching approach).
