You'll take ownership for NPD, re-engineering, and obsolescence on a variety of electrical equipment and systems within the Aviation industry and other sectors. JOB DESCRIPTION: Electrical Design Engineer – Power Electronics, Wire Harness – Aviation We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer, and you'd be joining an experienced multi-disciplinary D&D team of 15+ Engineers covering mechanical, power electronics, embedded systems and project management. We use a bespoke electrical design software called SEE Electrical and a simple PLM system that allows us to store and share files across our whole groups engineering teams. Initially due to demand, you'll be involved in a lot of re-engineering and customer support, but this role will organically evolve into a stronger bias towards New Product Development. Whilst offering you an interesting, innovative and challenging role. You will be tested on simple electrical designs through to complex battery management systems and power conversion. The products we make have a direct impact in making the Aviation industry greener. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Electrical Design Engineer – Power Electronics, Wire Harness – Aviation · You'll create a high standard of electrical schematics, compiling and maintaining strong wiring harness design drawings · You'll be involved in recommending reliable connectors for the diverse environments our products can be exposed to · You'll be an integral part of the engineering team, including mechanical and power electronics, to increase the success rate of cable harnesses and to ensure efficient and reliable designs that are cost effective and allow ease of assembly · You'll collaborate with the firmware and PCB teams to ensure reliable CAN communication with our products and systems PERSON SPECIFICATION: Electrical Design Engineer – Power Electronics, Wire Harness – Aviation · You must have practical electrical design experience, including electrical harness drawings and be comfortable producing electrical schematics · You will be happy to work in Bedford, 5 days a week, sitting within our multi-disciplinary design team · You will have experience of industrial design of machinery, systems, equipment or similar · Preferably you will be familiar with vehicle electrics or the Aviation industry, but this is not essential THE COMPANY: We are over 30 years old, part of a global multi-billion turnover group and supply to nearly 60 different countries.
