We are a growing business and are now on the hunt for an experienced Sales Engineer who is looking to step up and branch out into an international career. Initially supporting North America, with the possibility of travel further afield. Based in the UK at our Cambridgeshire office, you will be selling our industrial temperature measurement solutions internationally into the heat treatment, food processing, ceramics, and coatings markets.
BASIC SALARY: Up to £60,000
BENEFITS: Uncapped Commission (Paid Quarterly), 25 Days + Bank Holidays, Company Pension Scheme
LOCATION: Ideally, you will be based within an hour of our office in Cambridgeshire but this is negotiable for the right candidate
COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Cambridge, Leicester, Peterborough, Northampton, Bedford, Corby, Kettering
JOB DESCRIPTION: You will be responsible for driving business growth to agreed targets internationally, working with existing representatives while also developing new business opportunities. You will receive comprehensive product training across our diverse range (Average order value of circa £20,000), enabling you to confidently demonstrate, sell and support our innovative industrial, industry-specific solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Visiting customers, supporting representatives and handling direct sales.
- Delivering technical product demonstrations and running trials at customer sites.
- Establishing, managing and growing key account relationships.
- Providing installation support, on-site training, and ongoing technical assistance.
- Identifying customer requirements and offering the best solutions through a consultative sales approach.
- Generating leads and developing new routes to market to complement our existing structure and increase brand awareness.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: We are looking for a driven and progressive Technical Sales Engineer, who is keen to progress their career and travel internationally up to 25% of the time. This role could suit a UK sales professional who is attracted to a more international role or an existing export sales engineer. Either way, you will be able to demonstrate the desire to take on and digest technical information and use it to solve customer challenges.
In addition, you will ideally have:
- A background in engineering, ideally with an HNC or higher qualification.
- Previous experience in B2B technical sales (domestically or internationally).
- Strong relationship-building skills and excellent communication abilities.
- The ability to create and execute a structured territory plan.
- Experience in capital equipment sales within our target markets, or broader engineering industries is highly desirable.
