We are award winning packaging manufacturer, based in Hampshire and we provide packaging solutions to a wide range of markets, including automotive, defence and engineering sectors. We are now looking for a General Manager to work our alongside and support our current Managing Director to take the business to the next stage of its journey, as we have strong aspirations for growth in the future. BASIC SALARY: £50,000 – £60,000 BENEFITS: · Company Bonus · Pension · Life Assurance · 23 Days Holiday LOCATION: Hampshire COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Basingstoke, Aldershot, Worthing, Portsmouth, Guildford, Southampton JOB DESCRIPTION: General Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager – packaging manufacturing, packaging solutions Reporting to the Managing Director, and as our General Manager, you will be directly responsible for the 3 current department managers Office, Design and Production. You will also be responsible for the other 20 members of staff and resolving any customer service issues, liaising with 3rd parties, Health and Safety, maintenance issues, design and any disciplinary issues. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: General Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager – packaging manufacturing, packaging solutions A more detailed brief will be made available to those who are shortlisted but in short, as our General Manager you will: · To manage up to 20 members of staff across Office, Design and Production. · Maintain minimum raw material stock levels · Machine and transport maintenance plan, and organise preventative maintenance visits · Site and building maintenance. · Responsible for people-management, recruitment, motivation, training and development staffing responsibilities. · Manage and be responsible for health and safety compliance. · Manage and control all expenditure within agreed budgets. · Maintain the ISO Quality Assurance Accreditation Programme. · Provide leadership, strategic direction and facilities management to the unit. · Set high personal and professional standards in line with company policy. PERSON SPECIFICATION: General Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager – packaging manufacturing, packaging solutions We would be delighted to receive applications from individuals who meet the following brief: · Have a proven track record of general, operational or manufacturing management, preferably from the packaging industry, although this is not essential. · Have some customer facing experience would be of particular interest · Not afraid to be a “hands” on Manager · Are an organised, yet flexible individual · Possess knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001 · Used to working to and organising and developing processes · Possess drive, enthusiasm and hold an air of authority · Have good interpersonal skills · Have the ability to work autonomously, combined with a methodical and careful approach to your responsibilities as General Manager.
