  • Proven experienceworking as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role
  • Demonstrableexperience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities(SEND)
  • Experience workingwith pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

Knowledge &Understanding

  • Goodunderstanding of autism and its impact on learning, communication, and socialinteraction
  • Awareness ofinclusive teaching practices and differentiation strategies
  • Understanding ofsafeguarding procedures and child protection responsibilities
  • Familiarity withbehaviour management strategies, including positive behaviour supportapproaches

Skills &Abilities

  • Ability to buildpositive, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
  • Strongcommunication skills, including the ability to adapt communication styles tomeet individual pupil needs
  • Skilled insupporting pupils’ emotional regulation and promoting independence
  • Ability to workcollaboratively as part of a team, as well as using initiative when required
  • Competence insupporting teaching and learning activities under the direction of a teacher
  • Goodorganisational skills and ability to manage time effectively
