The role will lead the newly created Business Development Enablement team which has been formed at an exciting time for the firm, to support delivery of the global growth strategy through improved client intelligence, the implementation of new technology and the martech suite, and the embedding of structured BD programmes such as Activator Advantage through technology and process improvements.

This varied position will require initiative, diplomacy, adaptability, energy and a willingness to work collaboratively.

From driving the implementation and adoption of new technology to support BD best practice and to support implementation and optimisation of CRM and relationship intelligence platforms.

Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification

  • Lead the strategy, development and day-to-day management of the firm’s marketing and business development technology stack, with primary responsibility for CRM, ERM and e-marketing platforms.
  • Own the roadmap for CRM and relationship intelligence tools, ensuring they support the firm’s client development, cross-selling, account management and growth objectives.
  • Drive adoption and best practice use of CRM and ERM systems across the marketing, BD and client-facing professional community through training, guidance and change management initiatives.
  • Oversee data quality, governance and integrity across marketing and BD systems, working to ensure accurate client, contact, relationship and activity data.
  • Partner with BD, marketing, communications, IT and knowledge teams to translate business needs into practical technology solutions and system enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and insight tools to support business development planning, campaign performance analysis and management decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client and intermediary intelligence, helping the firm better understand relationship networks, referral pathways and growth opportunities.
  • Support the implementation of new technology and system enhancements, including requirements gathering, testing, roll-out planning and user adoption.
  • Act as the key liaison with external technology vendors and platform providers, managing relationships, service delivery, renewals and ongoing optimisation.
  • Establish and document best practice processes for the use of marketing and BD technology, ensuring consistency, efficiency and compliance across teams.
  • Monitor market developments and emerging technologies in CRM, ERM, marketing automation and data analytics, recommending improvements where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection, privacy and regulatory requirements in the use of client and contact data across systems and campaigns.
  • Provide leadership and subject matter expertise on how technology can enable more strategic, data-driven business development and marketing activity across the firm.
  • Responsible for incident management of martech tools, responding to and escalating critical issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Optimise operational efficiency, strengthen governance, and embed continuous improvement across the team
  • Lead and develop direct reports or support resources to build a high performing team

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Relevant experience in business development or market technology role within a professional services environment.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and data-driven BD approaches.
  • Proven experience implementing new technology and driving adoption.
  • Experience working in a partnership environment is essential.
