Global Marketing & Business Development Manager – IDR

Based in our London office, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic marketing and business development manager to support our global insolvency and dispute resolution practice globally. This role is pivotal in driving the global growth strategy of one of the firm’s most high-profile practices and provides opportunities for professional growth and international exposure.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in legal marketing and business development, with a strong understanding of the nuances of contentious legal services in an international context. This is a particularly varied and interesting role working within a fast growing and dynamic global Marketing, BD and Communications team.
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
Strategic planning and execution:
- Develop and implement global marketing and profile-raising strategies aligned with the practice’s business plan and goals, in addition to guiding and managing the MBD budgeting process globally.
- Collaborate with partners and senior stakeholders to shape and execute client targeting and cross-selling initiatives.
- Identify, evaluate and manage participation and sponsorship of conferences and events to build relationships with clients and targets.
- Lead client relationship management initiatives with referral firms and intermediaries.
- Support partners in preparing for client meetings.
- Monitor market trends and client developments to identify new business opportunities.
- Identify and coordinate opportunities for cross-selling across the firm.
- Lead the strategy for legal directories (submissions, profiles) etc for the group.
- Drive the creation of marketing materials to profile the team\’s capabilities including web content.
- Lead a programme of thought leadership to profile the firm\’s expertise including thought leadership, case summaries and articles, webinars, and events.
- Coordinate global campaigns that showcase the firm’s expertise in insolvency, restructuring, and dispute resolution.
Internal Collaboration:
- Work closely with regional marketing teams, PR, communications, and knowledge management to ensure alignment and leverage global resources.
- Contribute to internal business development best practice.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Solid experience in a marketing or business development role within a global law firm, with a focus on contentious practices (e.g., litigation, arbitration, investigations, insolvency).
- Proven track record of working in an international role, ideally supporting cross-border teams and initiatives.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the legal market.
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Degree qualified; additional qualifications in marketing, law, or business are advantageous.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Ideally has knowledge of CRM systems (e.g. InterAction) and effective CRM strategy, mailing platforms (e.g. Vuture), webinar platforms (e.g. On24) etc.
- Able and willing to work outside normal working hours/days when required and travel occasionally.
