Our client, a well-established and technically respected engineering organisation, operating within the UK power and electrical infrastructure sector, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis to support continued growth. The business delivers bespoke HV and LV switchgear and control panel solutions for a broad industrial and commercial client base across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop detailed HV/LV switchgear and control panel layouts using CAD software
- Produce electrical schematics, GA drawings, and panel arrangements to client specifications
- Collaborate with project engineers to ensure correct component selection in line with standards, availability, and cost targets
- Generate complete BOMs / parts lists to support procurement and manufacturing
- Ensure all designs comply with current British Standards, industry regulations, and internal procedures
Essential Requirements
- Formal qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience in LV switchgear and electrical installation design
- Strong understanding of BS standards and electrical compliance
- Ability to read, interpret, and produce engineering drawings
- Experience with CAD systems (EPLAN highly desirable)
- Strong technical communication skills and fluent English
- Right to work in the UK

- Control systems and PLC circuit design
- Exposure to bespoke or engineered-to-order electrical solutions
