The Opportunity

A great opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join a well-established residential housebuilder delivering high-quality homes across South Wales, the Three Counties and the South West. With a strong pipeline of private and affordable housing developments, this role offers long-term stability and genuine career development within a growing business. Based from the head office in Magor, you’ll support the procurement function and play a key role in ensuring materials are sourced efficiently, competitively and in line with live project programmes.

Role Overview

  • Purchasing building materials and components for residential developments
  • Sourcing materials and obtaining competitive supplier quotations
  • Supporting supplier negotiations and maintaining strong relationships
  • Ensuring timely delivery of materials to site in line with build programmes
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records and purchase orders
  • Liaising with construction teams to forecast material requirements
  • Supporting cost control and efficient supply chain processes

About You

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Understanding of procurement or supply chain processes
  • Confident communicator with good negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Experience within construction or housing is beneficial but not essential
  • Relevant qualification in procurement, business administration or similar advantageous
