A well-established architectural practice is looking to appoint an Architectural Technician to join its growing team in Hereford. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on an exceptionally varied portfolio of projects, ranging from bespoke contemporary new builds to Grade I listed buildings, Scheduled Ancient Monuments and sensitive heritage restorations. The practice has built an outstanding reputation for delivering thoughtful, technically robust architecture, combining innovative design with a deep understanding of conservation and the historic built environment.

You will become part of a collaborative and supportive team, working closely with Architects, Technologists and clients throughout every stage of the project lifecycle. Whether delivering bespoke residential developments, commercial schemes or nationally significant heritage projects, you will play an important role in producing high-quality technical information and helping bring ambitious designs to life.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

  • Producing detailed technical drawing packages and construction information
  • Developing projects from planning through to construction stages
  • Preparing technical details, specifications and Building Regulation packages
  • Working on a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and heritage projects
  • Coordinating information with Architects, consultants and contractors
  • Assisting with planning, listed building consent and technical submissions
  • Undertaking measured surveys and site inspections where required
  • Ensuring designs comply with current Building Regulations and industry standards
  • Supporting project delivery through all RIBA work stages
  • Managing drawing revisions and technical documentation
  • Assisting in resolving technical and construction-related queries
  • Working collaboratively within the wider design team to deliver successful projects
About You

You should have:

  • Previous experience as an Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD with Revit experience advantageous
  • Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations
  • Experience producing construction drawing packages
  • Residential or commercial project experience
  • Heritage or conservation experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Passion for delivering high-quality architectural projects
