Our client delivers a wide range of commercial landscaping, grounds maintenance, refurbishment, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects for an impressive portfolio of public and private sector clients. The Role
As Landscaping & Grounds Maintenance Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of both commercial landscaping projects and planned grounds maintenance contracts from initial client brief through to completion. You'll oversee operational teams, manage project programmes and budgets, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality and customer service. The role offers excellent variety, combining operational leadership with commercial responsibility and strong client engagement across multiple live projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the full lifecycle of commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance projects
- Planning works, allocating resources, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting site supervisors, operational teams, and subcontractors
- Monitoring project performance against programme and commercial objectives
- Preparing quotations, managing additional works, and supporting tender submissions
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Ensuring full compliance with health & safety legislation, RAMS, COSHH, and environmental standards
- Conducting regular site visits, quality inspections, and progress reviews
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional customer service standards
- Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and contract profitability
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a Project Manager, Contracts Manager, or Operations Manager within landscaping, grounds maintenance, facilities management, or a related construction environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple live projects and operational teams
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and profitability
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Good understanding of health & safety legislation and industry best practice
- Full UK driving licence
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) desirable
- Horticultural qualification (Level 3 Diploma or equivalent) or ROLO accreditation would be advantageous
