Walker & Sloan are working with an outstanding regional construction contractor to recruit an Assistant Estimator. Are you an Assistant Estimator / Quantity Surveyor or a Trainee Estimator / Quantity Surveyor looking to develop your career with a stable, well-run contractor? I’m working with a respected construction company based in the Gloucester area, known for delivering a wide range of projects across public and private sector clients. Their work spans building upkeep and improvement, external works, groundworks, enabling packages, and specialist in-house trades - providing a diverse and consistent workload. With continued growth and long term frameworks in place, they’re now looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with an Assistant Estimator who is keen to learn and progress.
The Role
As an Assistant Estimator, you’ll support the pre-construction team in pricing a varied portfolio of works, including groundworks packages, smaller reactive jobs, and larger planned projects. You’ll assist in preparing accurate and competitive tenders, working closely with senior estimators, operations teams, and supply chain partners. This is a great opportunity to build your experience and develop your commercial understanding within a supportive environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Some experience in an estimating or construction-related role (placement or graduate experience considered)
- Interest in refurbishment, maintenance, groundworks, or multi-discipline works
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- Based in or commutable to the Gloucester area
