A national, award-winning property consultancy is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join its professional team based in Exeter. Delivering services to a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients across the UK, the organisation combines strong local expertise with national capability.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering detailed condition surveys and undertaking asbestos compliance checks across a varied property portfolio, including corporate buildings, depots, schools, libraries, and tenanted farms. Condition surveys play a vital role in helping clients prioritise limited budgets, secure funding, and plan essential repairs and improvements. In addition to condition reporting, responsibilities may include:
- Preparing schedules of condition
- Dilapidations claims
- Planned maintenance programmes
- Technical reports
- Reviewing known ACMs against existing asbestos registers
About You
You will demonstrate:
- A degree in Building Surveying (or related discipline)
- Progression towards Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in building fabric condition surveying within commercial property
- Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and relevant construction standards
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Full UK Driving Licence
