Walker & Sloan are working with an outstanding specialist contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join one of the UK's most exciting mission-critical infrastructure developments. Our client has built an exceptional reputation for delivering technically complex construction, engineering and infrastructure projects across the Data Centre, Defence and Energy sectors. With over 40 years of specialist expertise, they continue to deliver landmark projects where engineering excellence, collaboration and technical innovation are at the forefront.

This opportunity will see you joining a flagship £80m hyperscale data centre development in Corsham, Wiltshire, leading the delivery of a major infrastructure package that includes enabling works, utilities, drainage, reinforced concrete structures and site-wide infrastructure. It's a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a technically demanding project from the early stages through to successful completion.

The Role

As Project Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the successful delivery of a complex infrastructure package, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Working alongside commercial, design and operational teams, you'll lead all aspects of project delivery, from programme management and stakeholder engagement through to commercial performance, technical coordination and successful project handover. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager who thrives on technically challenging schemes and enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure projects.

About You

You’ll have a proven track record delivering complex civil engineering or infrastructure projects for a main contractor and be confident managing both operational and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle. You’ll possess strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, programme management, risk mitigation and stakeholder engagement, together with the leadership skills needed to drive high-performing project teams. Experience delivering infrastructure works associated with major developments would be highly advantageous, particularly across:

  • Earthworks and cut & fill operations
  • Piling and reinforced concrete foundations
  • Drainage and attenuation systems
  • Utilities diversions and underground services
  • Roads, external works and site infrastructure
  • Hard landscaping and public realm works

You’ll ideally hold an HNC, Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction-related discipline, together with a Black CSCS Card and SMSTS certification. Professional membership with CIOB, RICS, APM or a similar institution would be advantageous.
