The Opportunity

A strong opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic SHEQ Manager to join an established construction business in a predominantly office-based role. This position will suit someone who enjoys influencing safety culture, supporting operational teams and working closely with directors to continuously improve standards across the business.

You will split time between the office, weekly joinery workshop visits and weekly site visits, ensuring SHEQ compliance and supporting teams across both manufacturing and construction environments.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing SHEQ advice ahead of construction operations.
  • Supporting directors and operational teams on all SHEQ matters.
  • Managing and updating company H&S policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining training matrix and identifying training requirements.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • Reviewing RAMS and site documentation for compliance.
  • Carrying out office, site and workshop inspections.
  • Supporting Construction Phase Plans, O&M manuals and handover documentation.
  • Supporting ISO quality documentation and site quality plans.
  • Managing subcontractor compliance including RAMS, PQQs and insurance checks.
  • Supporting occupational health and joinery workshop safety compliance.
  • Liaising with site managers and workshop managers to provide guidance.

About You

  • IOSH Member (minimum Cert level).
  • NEBOSH National Diploma (or working toward).
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, joinery or workshop environments.
  • Confident communicator able to influence at all levels.
  • Proactive and organised with strong documentation skills.
  • Comfortable working both office-based and visiting sites/workshops weekly.
