The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced Technical Manager to join a growing housebuilding and development business. This role will see you take ownership of the technical aspects of new build projects, with a particular focus on social and affordable housing schemes.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee all technical elements of construction projects from inception to completion, aligned with RIBA stages 1–5.
- Design Coordination: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to review and coordinate drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with building regulations, structural warranty requirements, accessibility standards, and energy efficiency targets.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control processes to identify and resolve clashes or inconsistencies before construction.
- Risk Management: Assess potential technical risks, developing strategies to mitigate and resolve issues proactively.
- Budget & Cost Control: Monitor and review project budgets against actuals during pre-construction
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a technical management role within construction, ideally with social or affordable housing.
- Strong working knowledge of building regulations and social housing standards.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, with a track record of delivering schemes on time and within budget.
- Effective communicator, able to build strong working relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency with relevant construction software and tools.
