Quantity Surveyor – Cardiff – Circa £50,000 + Package

Walker & Sloan are currently working with a reputable main contractor who have a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a major £30m refurbishment project based in Cardiff . This is a residential scheme with a strong community and sustainability focus, offering a long-term pipeline of secured work and the chance to make a real impact within a collaborative delivery team.

The Role:

As Quantity Surveyor, you\’ll be responsible for managing the financial performance of the project from start to finish. This includes forecasting, subcontractor procurement, valuations, variation management and reporting. You\’ll work closely with the site and commercial teams to ensure everything runs smoothly, profitably, and in line with contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post-contract financial reporting and cost forecasting
  • Subcontract procurement and management
  • Preparation and agreement of interim valuations and variations
  • Client account management and stakeholder liaison
  • Managing assistant/graduate surveyors
  • Maintaining reporting timetables and using internal systems and procedures effectively

What We\’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with a main contractor on residential or commercial projects
  • A solid understanding of financial reporting and cost control
  • Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior members of the team
  • Ability to work autonomously while being part of a wider team
