A fantastic opportunity for a Lead Designer to join a growing modular construction business delivering innovative offsite projects across the UK. This role offers the chance to lead schemes from concept through to manufacturing and site delivery, taking ownership of technical coordination and design development across a range of modular building projects. You’ll work across light steel framing, hot rolled steel and timber panel systems while supporting the growth and development of the wider design team.
Role Overview
- Leading modular building designs from concept through to delivery.
- Producing and coordinating detailed Revit and AutoCAD drawings.
- Managing technical compliance with Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinating design information with internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting manufacturing and construction design processes.
- Managing project design programmes and deliverables.
- Supporting and mentoring junior designers where required.
- Liaising with engineering teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Supporting BIM Level 2 design coordination and compliance.
- Managing technical detailing across modular and steel-framed systems.
About You
- Strong experience within modular, offsite or steel frame construction design.
- Advanced Revit and AutoCAD experience essential.
- Strong technical understanding of UK Building Regulations.
- Experience leading projects through RIBA stages 1–5.
- Good understanding of hot rolled steel, light gauge steel or timber systems preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
