A well-established architectural practice is looking to appoint an Architectural Technologist to join its growing team in Hereford. This is a unique opportunity to work on an exceptionally diverse portfolio of projects ranging from contemporary new-build developments through to Grade I listed buildings, heritage assets and Scheduled Ancient Monuments. The practice has built a strong reputation across the region for delivering high-quality architecture while also specialising in the conservation, repair and restoration of some of the country's most significant historic structures.

You'll be joining a collaborative and passionate team where no two projects are the same. Whether working on bespoke residential schemes, commercial developments, church repairs, conservation projects or heritage-led refurbishments, you'll gain exposure to every stage of the design and delivery process.

This role would suit an Architectural Technologist who enjoys technical problem-solving, working closely with clients and consultants, and contributing to projects that genuinely make a lasting impact on the built environment.

Role Overview

  • Producing detailed technical drawing packages and construction information
  • Supporting projects from planning through to construction delivery
  • Working on a mixture of new-build, refurbishment and conservation schemes
  • Preparing technical details, specifications and construction documentation
  • Coordinating information with consultants, contractors and stakeholders
  • Assisting with planning, listed building and heritage applications
  • Ensuring designs comply with current Building Regulations and technical standards
  • Undertaking site visits, surveys and inspections
  • Supporting project delivery through RIBA work stages
  • Managing project documentation and drawing revisions
  • Working closely with senior architects and project teams
  • Contributing technical expertise throughout the design lifecycle

About You

  • Previous experience as an Architectural Technologist or Architectural Technician
  • Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Experience producing technical drawing packages
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations
  • Experience working on residential, commercial or heritage projects
  • Knowledge of conservation or listed buildings would be advantageous
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Passion for architecture and the built environment
