Walker & Sloan are proud to be exclusively partnering with an established and highly respected regional construction contractor to recruit a Construction Project Manager to join their growing operational team in Stroud. Our client delivers a diverse portfolio of refurbishment, roofing, maintenance and specialist construction projects across the South West and Midlands. With a reputation built on quality workmanship, technical expertise and long-standing client relationships, they continue to secure an impressive pipeline of repeat business across both the public and private sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who enjoys solving technical challenges, leading multiple projects and working closely with site teams to ensure successful delivery.
The Role
As Construction Project Manager, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio of refurbishment and roofing projects, ensuring each scheme is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Working closely with Site Managers, commercial teams, clients and subcontractors, you'll be responsible for driving programme performance, coordinating trade packages and providing technical support throughout the construction process. This is a hands-on project management role where your construction knowledge and ability to solve problems will be just as important as your leadership and organisational skills.
About You
You'll have previous experience delivering refurbishment, roofing or maintenance projects for a main contractor and be confident managing multiple live schemes simultaneously. You'll be comfortable coordinating subcontractors, monitoring programmes and working closely with operational teams to overcome technical construction challenges as they arise. Whether it's sequencing complex roofing works, resolving buildability issues or advising site teams on practical construction solutions, you'll enjoy being actively involved in project delivery rather than simply managing from a distance. Strong communication, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem solving are essential, together with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
What's on Offer?
- Competitive salary up to £65,000
- Company vehicle or vehicle allowance
- Company pension scheme
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
- Ongoing professional development and training
- Stable, long-term career with a growing regional contractor
- Opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of refurbishment and roofing projects
- Supportive, collaborative and people-focused working environment
