Walker & Sloan are working with an outstanding regional construction contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for a growing residential division delivering both social housing and speculative housing developments across Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established business with a strong pipeline of residential projects and an excellent reputation for quality delivery. The company is continuing to expand its residential portfolio and is looking to appoint an ambitious QS who wants to play a key role within a supportive, forward-thinking commercial team.
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple residential developments from procurement through to final account. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, operational teams, and subcontractors, you’ll ensure projects are delivered commercially successfully while maintaining strong relationships across the supply chain. This role offers a varied workload across both affordable housing and open-market residential schemes, making it ideal for someone looking to broaden their project exposure within the residential sector.
- Managing project costs across multiple housing developments
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Monitoring budgets, forecasts, and commercial reporting
- Supporting cost control and risk management across projects
- Liaising with site teams, clients, subcontractors, and consultants
- Assisting with monthly CVRs and financial reporting
- Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and programme targets
Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction is required. Residential experience is highly desirable - social housing, affordable housing, or speculative housing preferred. A strong understanding of subcontract procurement and commercial management is essential. A full UK driving licence is also required.
Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and long-term career progression within a growing regional contractor. There is an opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of housing developments.
