A growing residential developer is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team based near Evesham. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an ambitious SME developer specialising in the delivery of high-quality residential developments throughout Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds. Typically delivering schemes of between 10 and 60 units, the business has established an excellent reputation for producing thoughtfully designed developments that blend seamlessly with their surroundings while maintaining an exceptional standard of build quality.
Working closely with the Commercial Director and wider construction team, you'll take ownership of the commercial management of multiple developments from pre-construction through to final account. This role offers genuine autonomy, exposure to every stage of the development process and the opportunity to play a key role as the business continues to grow.
- Managing the commercial delivery of multiple residential developments from inception through to final account
- Producing and maintaining monthly CVRs, forecasts and commercial reports
- Managing project budgets and maintaining robust cost control
- Procuring subcontractors and negotiating subcontract packages
- Preparing subcontract orders and managing subcontractor accounts
- Preparing applications for payment and managing project cash flow
- Producing and agreeing final accounts
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies
- Working closely with the Land, Technical and Construction teams throughout each development
- Supporting the successful delivery of developments while maximising project profitability
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a housebuilder or residential developer:
- Experience delivering traditional housing developments
- Strong understanding of CVRs, forecasting and commercial reporting
- Experience managing subcontract procurement and subcontractor accounts
- Good knowledge of JCT contracts and residential construction
- Experience managing variations, cost control and final accounts
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Full UK driving licence
