Walker & Sloan are working with an outstanding regional construction contractor to recruit a Senior Site Manager to lead the delivery of an exciting new build project in Bridgwater. Our client is one of the South West's most respected regional contractors, delivering a diverse portfolio of high-quality projects across commercial, education, industrial, healthcare, and public sector markets. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Manager to take full responsibility for the successful delivery of an initial c.£6m new build scheme, with the opportunity to progress onto future flagship developments as the business continues to expand.

The Role

As Senior Site Manager, you will lead the day-to-day delivery of a c.£6m new build project in Bridgwater, taking responsibility for programme, quality, health & safety, and the successful coordination of all site activities. Working closely with the Project Manager, commercial team, design consultants, and subcontractors, you'll ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the exceptionally high standards the business is renowned for. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Senior Site Manager looking to establish themselves within a progressive contractor offering genuine long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking full responsibility for the day-to-day management of a c.£6m new build project
  • Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour on site
  • Driving programme performance and ensuring key project milestones are achieved
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance
  • Managing site logistics, sequencing, and short-term programming
  • Chairing site coordination meetings and reporting progress to senior management
  • Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the wider project team
  • Managing quality inspections, snagging, commissioning, and project handover
  • Supporting the mentoring and development of junior site management staff where appropriate

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience as a Senior Site Manager or experienced Site Manager within a main contractor environment
  • Proven track record successfully delivering new build construction projects
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary site teams
  • Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, programming, and quality management
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Passion for delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards
  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualified
