We are seeking an exceptional and strategic education leader to join the College as Deputy Principal – Curriculum. This is a key Executive Leadership role responsible for driving curriculum excellence, quality improvement, and an outstanding learner experience across all areas of provision.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for curriculum, teaching, learning, assessment, and student achievement, ensuring the College continues to deliver high-quality, employer-responsive, and inclusive education aligned to local, regional, and national priorities. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Deputy Principal will play a significant role in shaping the strategic direction, performance, and future growth of the College.
You will have:
- 5-10 years of senior leadership experience within Further Education or a comparable education environment.
- Proven track record of improving curriculum quality, learner outcomes, and organisational performance.
- Experience leading large and diverse curriculum teams.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks, FE funding methodologies, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience of strategic planning, curriculum development, and leading organisational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of the College’s curriculum strategy in line with the College vision and strategic objectives.
- Ensure curriculum planning effectively meets the needs of learners, employers, apprenticeships, and local labour market demands.
- Drive innovation in teaching, learning, curriculum design, and digital delivery.
- Contribute to wider corporate leadership, governance reporting, and organisational development initiatives.
- Curriculum & Quality
- Provide executive oversight of curriculum performance, learner outcomes, quality assurance, and achievement rates across all provision areas.
- Ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning, assessment, and student support.
- Lead quality improvement strategies and inspection readiness, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and funding body requirements.
- Monitor and improve learner retention, attendance, progression, and achievement outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop strong partnerships with employers, external stakeholders, awarding bodies, and regional networks to enhance curriculum relevance and opportunities for learners.
- Promote collaborative working across the College to support innovation and continuous improvement.
- Financial & Operational Management
- Contribute to effective financial planning and resource management across curriculum areas.
- Ensure operational efficiency while maintaining high-quality learner provision and outcomes.
