This is a high-impact interim opportunity where you will play a key role in a large-scale housing transformation programme. You will have the autonomy to shape financial processes and ensure a successful transition within a complex public sector environment.
We are seeking an experienced finance professional to provide dedicated, time-limited support during a key organisational transition. This role will play a critical part in enabling the move to a single operating model for the management of large scale social housing properties.
You will lead on all finance-related preparations for go-live, ensuring systems, processes, and controls are fully designed, implemented, and operational within a defined timeframe.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the financial readiness for the transition to a unified operating model.
- Design, configure, and implement financial systems, processes, and controls to support go-live.
- Ensure robust governance, reporting, and budget management frameworks are in place.
- Support finance system changes, including configuration and optimisation.
- Develop and maintain chart of accounts structures aligned to the new operating model.
- Deliver accurate reconciliations, financial controls, and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, housing, and operational teams.
- Support cutover planning and ensure a smooth transition to the new model.
- Provide post-go-live support to stabilise financial operations and ensure continuity of service delivery.
- CCAB-qualified accountant (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Strong financial accounting experience within local government, housing, ALMO, or similar public sector environment.
- Proven track record supporting finance system changes, restructures, or organisational transitions.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial controls, reconciliations, reporting, and chart of accounts design.
- Experience working within complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Ability to work at pace and deliver within a time-limited, project-focused role.
- Strong to advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Civica Financials (highly desirable).
