A specialist design and build contractor is looking to appoint an Architectural Technician to join its growing technical team in Bristol. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-quality commercial interior and workplace projects, supporting schemes from concept through to construction. Working closely with designers, contractors and consultants, you will play a key role in transforming creative concepts into detailed technical packages ready for delivery.
The position would suit an Architectural Technician with strong Revit skills who enjoys technical coordination, problem solving and working within a collaborative project environment.
Role OverviewYou will be responsible for:
- Producing comprehensive technical construction drawing packages using Revit
- Supporting the delivery of commercial interior fit out and refurbishment projects
- Coordinating drawings from external consultants and subcontractors
- Reviewing technical information and identifying design clashes
- Managing drawing registers, programmes and document control processes
- Attending design team meetings with clients, consultants and contractors
- Supporting site-based technical queries throughout project delivery
- Assisting with Principal Designer duties under CDM and the Building Safety Act
- Contributing to designer risk assessments and compliance reviews
- Supporting the preparation of room data sheets and specifications
- Managing drawing revisions and construction issue documentation
- Working closely with the creative and technical design teams throughout the project lifecycle
Previous experience as an Architectural Technician or Technical Designer
- Strong Revit skills with experience producing technical construction drawings
- Understanding of BIM processes and technical coordination
- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and design risk management
- Experience coordinating information from consultants and subcontractors
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- AutoCAD knowledge would be advantageous
