I'm working with a well-established and growing office fit-out specialist based in Bristol who are looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to lead their in-house design function.
The Company: My client is a specialist in design and build commercial office fit-outs and refurbishments, with a strong reputation for delivering beautifully crafted spaces that balance aesthetics with performance. Their team is tight-knit, professional, and passionate about quality — and they’re now looking for someone who can help drive the design arm of the business forward.
The Role: As Design Manager, you’ll oversee the full design journey — managing drawing production, coordinating external consultants, and ensuring compliance with programme and regulatory standards. The right person will be technically strong in Revit, confident in client-facing environments, and experienced in the commercial interiors sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed construction issue drawings in Revit
- Check and collate technical drawings from external sub-contractors
- Manage design programmes and schedules to align with project timelines
- Lead design meetings with contractors, suppliers, and client consultants
- Attend regular site and client meetings to ensure smooth delivery
- Prepare and collate designer risk assessments in line with CDM
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in commercial fit-out or workplace design is essential
- Proficiency in Revit and technical drawing production
- Comfortable leading coordination with contractors and design teams
- Knowledge of UK building regulations and CDM responsibilities
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or similar is preferred
