Role Overview

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll gain full lifecycle exposure, supporting a Senior Surveyor across both pre-construction and live delivery phases. This is a permanent position with a clear pathway for development, ideal for someone looking to build a long-term surveying career in a business that values learning, loyalty, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Quantity Surveyors across multiple projects, from tender through to final account.
  • Support with subcontractor management, pricing assessments, and account administration.
  • Attend monthly CVR meetings and contribute to financial reporting.
  • Undertake site visits and help measure subcontract accounts.
  • Gain detailed understanding of contract conditions, specifications, and pricing.
  • Help analyse post-tender pricing and assist with ongoing commercial management.

Candidate Profile

  • HNC or above in Quantity Surveying or similar construction-related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally with exposure to live and/or pre-construction projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Eager to learn from experienced colleagues and contribute to a high-performing team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Based within approximately 45 minutes of Barking (East London) with flexibility to travel to sites across Greater London and the Home Counties.
