Assistant / Project Quantity Surveyor – Estate Regeneration (London) 📍 Site-based (London) · 1 day WFH · Freelance · £300–£325/day I\’m recruiting on behalf of a leading contractor delivering a live estate regeneration scheme in London. We’re looking for a capable and motivated Assistant or Project Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a freelance basis, with potential for a temp-to-perm transition. The project is at MEP 1st fix stage, and you’ll be working closely with a supportive Senior QS to manage subcontract packages and contribute to commercial reporting. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 3–5 years’ experience who’s ready to take ownership of key commercial duties with light-touch supervision. 🛠 Your Role: Package Management: * Take ownership of your assigned packages: valuations, forecasting, variations, and progress updates * Lead on subcontractor meetings and minute key actions and commercial positions * Issue timely payment notices and maintain clear subcontract communication * Maintain structured and accurate commercial records Reporting Support: * Assist the Senior QS with CVRs and monthly reporting * Keep variation schedules up to date and support change management processes 👤 The Ideal Candidate: * 3–5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, ideally with residential new build or regeneration experience * Familiar with JCT Design & Build 2016 contracts * Strong communicator and capable of managing your own workload * Commercially aware, reliable, and detail-focused * Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying (or similar); MRICS progression a plus: If you\’re a PQS-level surveyor looking for a role with autonomy, support, and the opportunity to progress — this could be a great fit. 📩 Drop me a message at Walker & Sloan or send over your CV for more details
