Your Role as a Cost Manager
As a Cost Manager, you’ll be an integral part of ensuring the project remains on track, on budget, and delivers maximum value. You will:
- Cost Planning and Management: Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets from inception to completion.
- Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare and present accurate cost forecasts and reports to the project team and stakeholders.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining the quality and scope of the project.
- Change Control: Manage the cost implications of project changes and ensure robust change management processes are in place.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure alignment on project goals and financial outcomes.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify cost risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise financial exposure.
- Contract Management: Provide cost-related input for procurement strategies and oversee contractor cost submissions in line with contractual requirements.
