Due to phenomenal growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Bury St Edmunds, working on a hybrid basis with 3 days onsite and 2 days from home.
In this role, you will provide commercial leadership and cost management expertise across complex engineering, utilities, and civil infrastructure projects. Working within multidisciplinary teams, you will deliver independent commercial oversight and strategic cost advice across NEC-based contracts.
Key Responsibilities- Provide senior commercial and cost management leadership across infrastructure projects
- Administer and manage NEC3 / NEC4 contracts (Options A, C, and E), including compensation events, early warnings, and change control
- Lead cost planning, benchmarking, and lifecycle cost analysis across civils, M&E, and infrastructure works
- Manage valuations, final accounts, and cash flow forecasting
- Monitor cost performance, risk allowances, and programme financial controls
- Conduct commercial reviews and ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, utilities, energy, or major civil engineering sectors
- Experience working on high-value capital programmes
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management processes
- Experience in cost planning, forecasting, and risk management
- Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- MRICS or working towards chartership desirable
- Work on major, nationally significant infrastructure programmes
- Hybrid working model with Bury St Edmunds as your primary site
