We are recruiting for a Senior Legal Technology Engineer who will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining advanced technology solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our legal teams. You will work closely with the wider Applications team, the Innovation Lead, and the Innovation and Legal Technology Delivery team. This role focuses on implementing AI driven solutions, process automation, document management systems, and document automation, tailored for the legal industry. You will build key relationships and collaborate with lawyers and stakeholders at all levels; especially our Innovation Champions to understand their requirements and offer viable solutions. We offer hybrid working at Walker Morris, so you’ll be able to split your time between home and the office, with 2-3 days in the office per week.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain AI workflows, automation workflows and templates.
- Implement process automation solutions to streamline legal operations.
- Configure and optimise document management systems for secure and efficient storage and retrieval.
- Conduct testing and quality assurance checks on automated documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant legal standards and regulations.
- Maximise the usage for procured AI solutions within the Legal teams.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve legal service delivery.
- Promote and embed existing tools (e.g. HighQ, Definely, Kira, Orbital Witness) across the legal teams.
- Support stakeholder adoption and engagement.
- Work closely with legal and Innovation teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on implemented solutions.
- Establish and maintain relationship with key stakeholders in the delivery of the service.
- Provide training to members of the innovation team to support their drive for greater adoption.
- Ensure all solutions comply with legal industry standards, data privacy regulations, and cybersecurity best practices.
Technical Skills:
- Strong experience in legal technology platforms (e.g., NetDocuments, HighQ, Avvoka, Contract Express, or similar).
- Knowledge of Power Automate and scripting, desirable.
- Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in legal workflows.
- Understanding of legal terminology, document types, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and address document automation challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with legal teams and stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in automated documents.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Benefits
- Salary of £45,000 to £55,000 per annum, dependent upon experience.
- Earn up to 10% of your salary with our annual bonus scheme.
- Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays per year increasing to 31 days with length of service, with the opportunity to buy/sell up to 5 days holiday per year.
- Auto enrolled into the workplace pension scheme, and we will contribute a minimum of 6% of your salary.
- 4x your annual salary in the event of a death in service.
- Hybrid and flexible working with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week.
