Join to apply for the Real Estate Litigation Paralegal role at Walker Morris LLP. We are seeking a Paralegal to join our Real Estate Litigation department. As a paralegal, you will work closely with partners and fee earners across a broad range of matters. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day case management and helping to deliver an excellent standard of service to our clients. The ideal candidate will have previous paralegal experience, preferably within litigation, and a strong commitment to office-based working. Responsibilities

  • Handle your own caseload of files from instruction, to issuing proceedings and enforcement under the supervision of a more senior fee earner.
  • Undertake certain elements of fee‑earning work under supervision, including:
  • Creation of first draft client documentation.
  • Generation of suitable client care correspondence.
  • Maintaining key client relationships.
  • Drafting of petition/court documentation.
  • Attendance at routine meetings/hearings plus minute‑taking responsibilities.
  • Deal with routine client enquiries and communications wherever possible.
  • General administrative tasks to support fee earners including monthly reporting on cases for client purposes and invoicing of files.
  • Deputise for fee earners in their absence if necessary, passing urgent issues to another senior fee earner for guidance.
  • Use the telephone to allow for quick response answers/client chasers.
  • Provide support to other fee earners in various departments as and when required.
  • Qualifications

    • Hold a Law Degree or Law Conversion qualification with a minimum of 2:1 classification.
    • Have previous Paralegal experience within a commercial law firm, ideally within Litigation.
    • Be able to communicate confidently both verbally and written with senior team members.
    • Have sufficient IT knowledge of Microsoft programmes, with a particular focus on Excel.
    • Be able to quickly identify clients’ needs and always provide excellent service.
    • Effectively prioritise tasks based on importance and urgency.
    • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across multiple departments.

    Benefits

    • £26,228 per annum rising to £27,228 after 1 year.
    • Annual performance‑based bonus scheme.
    • Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays per year, increasing to 31 days with length of service, with the opportunity to buy up to 5 days holiday per year.
    • Auto‑enrolled into the workplace pension scheme, and we’ll contribute a minimum of 6% of your salary.
    • 4× your annual salary in the event of a death in service.
    • Hybrid and flexible working for most roles, with a minimum of 60% of your time spent in the office.
