Our Credit Control team plays a central role in safeguarding the firm’s financial stability, and we are now looking for a Finance Administrator to join us and help support the accurate, timely management of our incoming payments and credit‑related activity. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in a process‑driven environment. This is a role where attention to detail genuinely matters; your work will directly contribute to the accuracy of our financial data and the efficiency of our billing and collections processes. In return, you’ll gain hands‑on experience within a busy Credit Control environment, with opportunities to develop your technical skills and expand your understanding of key financial and regulatory frameworks. If you’re looking to build your career in finance operations within a leading law firm, and you enjoy combining responsibility with structured, process‑led work, this could be the perfect next step, all within an organisation committed to supporting your growth.

As a Finance Administrator, you will:

  • Post all incoming payments in relation to invoices, accurately and promptly.
  • Manage the Credit Control shared mailbox, responding to queries and dealing with any ad hoc requests that arise.
  • Confidently use internal systems to record any payment information or notes necessary, ensuring they are clear and precise.
  • Action daily Aderant tasks in a timely manner.
  • Manage Credit Risk alerts and provide internal updates to the business within required timeframes.
  • Conduct and review residual balances on a monthly basis to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Undertake any other reasonable task as and when it is required by the firm to support the smooth operation of the department.

We are looking for:

  • Educated to A‑Level standard (or equivalent), with strong proficiency in Maths and English.
  • Previous finance or administrative experience is beneficial but not required, as full training is provided.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently using your own initiative, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations professionally and liaise effectively with both internal colleagues and external clients.
  • High level of accuracy when maintaining records, processing payments, and reconciling accounts.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of, and adherence to, relevant regulatory and legislative requirements, including Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, SRA standards, GDPR, and FCA guidelines.

Some of our benefits include:

  • Salary reflective of experience, up to ÂŁ27,000 per annum.
  • Earn up to 10% of your salary with our annual bonus scheme.
  • Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays per year increasing to 31 days with length of service, with the opportunity to buy up to 5 days holiday per year.
  • Hybrid working with on average 40-60% of your time spent in the office.
  • Auto enrolled into the workplace pension scheme, and we will contribute a minimum of 6% of your salary.
  • 4x your annual salary in the event of a death in service.
